The Samuel George Ziegler collection contains largely materials on missionaries and overseas experiences in Sierra Leone, Puerto Rico, China, the Philippines, and Japan of the United Brethren Church from 1752 to 1966. Seeing as Reverend Ziegler was the Associate Secretary of the Division of World Missions from 1921 to 1958, there are two copies of unpublished works on the History of Overseas Missions of the United Brethren Church, including a final copy, as well annual reports and correspondence. Two maps are included in this collection, one of China and one of the Philippine Islands. Missionary personal accounts are comprised in the collection, in addition to photographs of thirty-seven missionaries abroad.

Material in this collection that relates to women include records from the World Federation of Methodist Women, notes from Wade's second wife, and an address by Emily Smith. Those records that relate to the World Federation of Methodist Women include articles, correspondence, a constitution, treasurer's reports, and signatures from representatives. The inclusive dates are 1936-1961, with the bulk of the material from the 1940s. Also included in Bishop Wade's papers are travel notes and observations from 1949 by his second wife. There are also several copies of an address given by Emily Smith in 1934 regarding Africa.

This collection consists of sermons, notes, photographs, legal documents, reports, clippings, correponsdence, and an artifact, reflecting mainly Bishop Wade's professional life. Also includes materials relating to the trial and prosecution of Bishop Anton Bast.

There is a microfilm (1892-1946) of his papers and manuscripts located in the library.

The collection contains photographs about missionary work done in Africa, mainly in Angola. There are several photographs from England, Germany, Holland and the Canary Islands. There are several event programs, one each from Ohio, Virginia and Africa and newspaper clippings concerning missionaries and Mrs. Glidden's marriage.

This collection contains items from a scrapbook that has been disassembled. Photographs from Sierre Leone and the Philippines are included. None of the photographs are dated, and few are identified. There is also a photo of Luther Burtner as well as his application to become a missionary. The collection also includes a Passport issued for Burtner to leave the Philippines.There are several news clippings that make reference to the death of Joseph Caulker, an African student brought to the United States by Burtner. All are undated. His wife, Jennie Light Burtner, wrote an extensive Diary (1904) describing in detail their trip to Shanghai ,Philippines, Egypt, Jerusalem, and England. There are also several notes which are inserted in the diary.

The Daniel Asbury Family collection spans the years 1799-1943 and is a diverse body of material. Much of it does not pertain to Asbury directly, but represents several generations' accumulation of clippings, receipts, and general miscellany. The early material, however, is very important for it illuminates Asbury's ministry. Especially do the numerous notes and bills for books he sold as agent for the Methodist Book Concern reflect his place as an agent and also offers a view of the literature the Methodists were printing as well as reading. Autobiographical notes are also of significance.

The Cowden collection is a significant representation of family records and genealogy together with records of his work in developing the Sunday School work of the United Brethren Church. The materials regarding the Sunday School offer a window on the progress in developing the administrative and educational practices of the church. Cowden gave creative leadership in applying the Chautauqua format to the work of the Sunday School. The collection also includes Cowden's manuscript of his autobiography. It was published by the United Brethren Publishing House in 1915. Two items included are over-size and are packaged separately: a marked map of the Battle of Shiloh, and an architectural drawing of a tablet commemorating the life and work of Rev. John George Pfrimmerer, M.D., who established the first United Brethren Churches in Indiana and the first United Brethren Sunday School in 1820 on the site of this tablet.

This collection consists of a book by Doris Hartman, entitled: "My Life in Hiroshima," and a memory scrapbook created by Lila Jean Fraizer. The scrapbook documents various A-3 missionaries after their service. Other materials include: a photograph album; a manuscript; biographical notes; a music score; and printed materials.

This collection contains dairies, stereoscopic photographs, correspondence, clippings, bulletins, pamphlets, and publications relating to the work and ministry of Newton Tennis Gottschall. One of the diaries, written while in Indonesia, is from Charlotte Agnes Swank Gottschall.

The Luddwell Hunter Estes Papers contains the assorted papers, photographs, and writings of Ludd Estes. Together these materials document the life work of Mr. Estes and represent the variety of positions he held within the denomination.

This collection contains information pertaining to the personal and professional life of Winslow Wilson. This file contains several autobiographies, his meditations and personal diary from prison which express his religious and conscientious objector views, personal and professional correspondence pertaining to his sentencing and beliefs, newspapers clippings, publications from his imprisonment, as well as Bible study notes during and after his sentence.
