The collection spans the years 1805-1928, with most of the material dating from before Fifield's death in 1859. The bulk of the material consists of letters, sermons and various documents. It also includes oil portraits and daguerreotypes of Fifiled and his wife, Celia. A few of the sermons date from Fifield's years as a secular banker; this indicates that he probably continued to preach somewhat during those years. It should be noted that several of Fifield's sermons are written on the back of correspondence which he received. Many of the documents are in poor condition and should be handled carefully, as should the oil paintings which are both cracked and flaking.

The majority of the papers are in two bound volumes of handwritten sermons from 1859 to1867 preaches at the Fayetteville MECS church. Next is a bound book containing his 1896 published drama, In the Wilderness or A Romance of Christianity. In the same folder, the researcher will discover a fragment of the same script possibly published in 1870. A single letter dated January 30, 18(7?) requesting a new appointment for the Ozark church. Finally, Hammett appears in a copy of an 1896 State of Washington civil libel suit decision.

This collection contains information pertaining to the personal and professional life of Reverend James Jolene Loomis of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South.The records reflect Loomis' service in the Civil War and his ministry in Southern Methodism. Also included are materials related to his daughter, found in the scrapbook. These papers contain sermon notes, letters, and documents regarding his children and grandchildren. The documents contain information regarding both the Civil War and Methodist teachings. The scrapbook also contains journal entries by Loomis along with printed items added by his daughter.

The personal papers of Gertrude Feely include three internment notebooks. There are articles, letters and general writings concerning her internment and also a copy of her book, Five Years in the Philippines, written in 1946. Included in her internment papers is a map of the Los Banos Camp. There are several black and white photos, mostly of Mission Meetings and two color photos, one of Gertrude Feely herself and one of James W. Lambuths' grave. There are two pamphlets published by the internees of Santo Tomas during their imprisonment, a leaflet advertising The Christian Youth Center in Kobe, Japan and a booklet titled The Church in the War Years

The Oral History Collection of Gertrude Feely contains three audio cassette tapes from an oral history interview conducted by June Fothergill on January 16-17, 1985. A tape index, release forms, several magazine articles about Feely, and two black and white photographs are included. The tapes are located at 6029-1-1:23-26.

The John Dreisbach Papers contains his printed sermon book, sermon outline book (1853-1854), and a personal diary - all written in German. In the sermon outline book, there is a reference to an 1876 date which relates to A. E. Dreisbach's estate; a descendant's of John. After the A. E. Dreisbach entry, writings from the childhood of Arthur W. Dreisbach, another descendant, can be found. There are extra copies of his John's sermons with English translations. The images include two glass ambrotype portraits of John and his and two additional photographs of John. There is correspondence to a Reverend A. Stapleton, as well as other correspondence, which gives information about Dreisbach and items within the collection.

Records pertaining to Dreisbach's family history are in notation format. There are other personal papers which include poems, hymns, a copy of John's final testament and a couple of passages from his journal. These records are written in both German and English. The sole artifact is a lamp bracket from the First Evangelical Church in Dayton, Ohio, which was used by John Dreisbach as a potato masher.

The Gladys Doyle Collection contains correspondence, photographs, slides, and filmstrips. The correspondence, dated 1935 to 1991, has been arranged in chronological order. It includes "Dear Friends" letters and personal letters written by and to Doyle. Some of this correspondence is written in Hindi. One folder contains undated correspondence and another contains letter fragments and a few holiday cards. A small amount of additional written material is also part of this collection and includes: two biographical items and a small black and white photograph of Doyle, reports on women's evangelical work in the Moradabad Conference (1963-1965), travel itineraries from 1961, and four miscellaneous items which include an undated article on Dora Walters and a pin from the Lal Bagh Girls' Intermediary College Centenary in 1970.

Photographs contained in this collection relate primarily to India, and include black and white as well as color prints. Most of these are unidentified and undated. Those that are dated and identified have been separated and grouped by decade. Slides make up the largest part of this collection. There are approximately 1,025 slides that have been divided into major subject areas such as Moradabad, Lucknow, Bareilly, village life, flora and fauna, individuals, friends, colleagues, literacy, and the Texas Uniting Conference. In addition, there are two filmstrips in this collection which have been placed at the back of the last slide box.

This collection contains many of Drury's publications: his biography of Otterbein, as well as a number of pamphlets; photographs; Drury's letters that he authored, and letters he received; letters or collections of old works that Drury kept for himself.

Among his letters, most of them are demonstrative of the kind of inquiry he was making into Otterbein and the history of the United Brethren Church in Christ. For the kind of histories that Drury was writing, he was meticulous about dates and the need to keep them straight in order to construct a coherent history. Much of his personal notes contain lists of dates, where it is clear he was hovering over the page attempting to connect disperate material or events. The largest collection of letters comes between 1883-1884, where Drury was ostensibly doing the bulk of his historical writing and attempting to contact any living witnesses available.

The photographs of this collection are largely unmarked, though there is at least one picture of A.W. Drury that is identified.

Drury's interest in Christian apologetics eventually led to an interest in things secular, as he later developed an interest in behavioral patters and their relation to religion; this led to his interest in William James, and the pamphlet he wrote on Psychology of Religion.

Quentin Lansman papers includes some of Lansman's notes and drafts for his dissertation at Northwestern University, titled An Historical Study of the Development of Higher Education and Related Theological and Educational Assumptions in the Evangelical United Brethren Church: 1800-1954. Also includes numerous sermon notes from the 1950s and 1960s. Also included are photographs of an Evangelical Church meeting and families in Hagerstown, Maryland, from prior to 1925, possibly before 1920, along with turn of the century post cards from Corydon, Indiana, the original state capital of Indiana. Also includes images of a commemoration service at the grave of early-19th century church figure John G. Pfrimmer (1762-1825). Personnal correspondance of Evangelical Church Rev. Henry Fuessner of Cleveland, Ohio is also included-among them are letters from General Secretary Bishop Sylvanus Charles Breyfogel (1851-1934). The letters range from 1928-1931.

There are numerous records and minutes from the 1960s for the United Campus Christian Fellowship, an ecumenical collegiate organization resulting from the merger of the campus Christian Fellowships of the Disciples of Christ, Evangelical United Brethren, United Church of Christ, and United Presbyterian U.S.A Chuches into a single national organization. At least one chart of its national structure, from its related churches down to college campuses and local congregations, is included. Handouts, reports, policies, and other materials related to Campus Fellowship make up the remainder of the collection. Images of events and student activities in several collegiate Christian fellowships are included, as well as a strategic plan titled "Operation Nehemiah" from the Hillcrest Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada, from the late 1950s-early 1960s. A panorama photograph of the 1958 Evangelical United Brethren Student Conference at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, is in a separate box.

A great deal of the work, biography, and family life of John Talbot Gracey is contained in this document. Gracey wrote a great deal of sermons in his life, many of which exist in this document. Some of these are completely written out, while some are still in outline form. Also included are many newspaper and magazine articles written by Gracey about various aspects of his life. There are articles about mission work, about other religions, and about his own Christian faith. The majority of these would have been published in a Christian newspaper or magazine, such as The Methodist.

Much of Gracey's missionary life is documented, from articles written about his experiences to notes he took while on different mission trips, to photographs of mission work. Gracey had many journals, some of which can be found in this collection.

As for his biography and family life, there are correspondences between Gracey and different members of his family. Some of his wife's writings are included in this collection, as well as responses to her work. Also included is information about his daughter Ida's missionary work in China. An interesting thing to note is the copy of marriage licenses from his wife Annie's father during his pastorate. This provides a bit of family history for the Gracey household.

The Mary Dumm Papers document her work as a missionary. The bulk of this collection is correspondence written by Dumm to her parents, Elizabeth and Walter Dumm of Madison, New Jersey. Dumm wrote to her parents on a weekly basis while she was in India, and this correspondence is from 1959 to 1972. Several letter indices were included with the letters. These were probably prepared by her parents, but are not complete for the entire years. Also included in the correspondence are several postcards from a trip Dumm took to Europe in 1969. Other correspondence included in this collection is addressed to her parents and concerns Mary's work. Some of these letters were written by individuals who had visited or who had contact with Dumm while she was stationed in India. The remaining letters addressed to her parents are from the Vellore Christian Medical College Board, the Women's Division of Christian Service of the Board of Global Ministries, and "Dear Friends" letters from other missionaries in India.

There are numerous news clippings regarding Dumm's work, life, and accounts of talks and presentations on her missionary experience in India. All the clippings have been photocopied from the originals because of deterioration. Programs and newsletters also document some of these presentations. Twenty-five black and white photographs are also included. All have been identified and dated. The second part of this collection documents the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Vellore, India. Items in this section of the papers include publications, articles, miscellaneous materials such as brochures, book announcements, pamphlets, and news clippings.
