This collection includes personal papers, photographs, and personal items from the life and work of the Draper family. There are four photograph albums that have pictures of the Draper children, places the family lived in Asia, other missionary staff workers, and their students. There are photographs of students in China and Malaysia that show the schools and classes Charles Draper taught science and Mary Ethel Draper taught English. Also included are Charles E. Draper's higher education papers from when he attended Purdue University.
Draper, Charles EdwinThis collection consists of three scrapbooks filled primarily with clippings from The Religious Telescope, a church newspaper of the United Brethren Church, and from assorted newspapers. These were compiled by C. I. B. Brane while he was active as the Washington correspondent for the magazine and the popular pastor of the Washington, D.C. United Brethren Church. The clippings are a rich resource for both religious and secular history in the latter years of the 19th century and the early part of the 20th century. In addition there are several letters and an address on the pioneers' history of the United Brethren Church written by Brane.
Brane, Commodore Ira BertonThis collection contains information pertaining to the personal and professional life of Reverend James Jolene Loomis of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South.The records reflect Loomis' service in the Civil War and his ministry in Southern Methodism. Also included are materials related to his daughter, found in the scrapbook. These papers contain sermon notes, letters, and documents regarding his children and grandchildren. The documents contain information regarding both the Civil War and Methodist teachings. The scrapbook also contains journal entries by Loomis along with printed items added by his daughter.
