        History

Ethel Lindy Mabuce (1886-?) was a Methodist Episcopal Church missionary to Burma. She attended Mayfield College (Missouri) and taught in the county schools of Missouri prior to becoming a missionary. Mabuce graduated from Chicago Evangelistic Institute in 1911 and from Taylor University (Indiana) in 1916. She worked as an assistant registrar there. Later that year she was appointed by the Des Moines Branch of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society and began work in Rangoon, Burma. In 1921 she was furloughed but did not return to the mission field because of ill health and her 1923 marriage to Reverend Christopher J. Soelberg.
